We have had the good fortune of having Ms Johnson as our son’s teacher this year for second grade. Besides being “nice and kind and fun”, as Austin tells us, she has really been a fantastic educator. She has unlocked Austin’s potential in the classroom. He has made some amazing strides in both his learning and his enthusiasm for school. We are humbled by her dedication.
Ms Eli has been hugely instrumental in helping Edie to gain confidence and competence in her schoolwork. When we first met Ms Eli, Edie was struggling with math, executive functioning, and the attendant low-self esteem that comes with having learning challenges. Ms Eli was able to really hone in on the barriers to Edie's learning and give her the strategies, materials, and encouragement she needed to make progress. The way Ms Eli was able to truly connect with and motivate Edie has made a world of difference not only in Edie's math proficiency, but also in her confidence around her learning. We couldn't be more grateful for her.
Eli has somehow managed, even in the midst of pandemic life masks and distance, to really see my daughter, cheering on the strengths that are unique to her. She challenges her to wonder, and express herself, and supports her curiosity and love of learning. Eli communicates with us parents in a wonderful way that allows us to continue conversations that occur in the classroom in our home. I am incredibly grateful for the kind and nurturing environment Eli has created in her classroom. My daughter truly views it as an extension of home.
